oh thats kool. but would it be possible to track the motion of the ipod using track motion:postion, rotation, and scale, if u had a good camera?
Kl1054 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
yeah i could do that, but i have a 30 fps camera so there's motion blur, and after effects can't track motion blur too well, so that messes everything up. and plus my hand is rotating too much, in addition to the ipod's position is variating too much, so i can't track to a single point. i could change the track points periodically, but that would take a lot of time.

But good job, anyways! You're amazing bro...

Oof! You got no idea how jealous I am of you...I couldn't do that stuff for my life! Mostly because of two reasons:1. Programs are too expensive for me, in addition to all the tutorials and the addon packs etc.2. No time; too much school stuff getting in my way X(

hey dude nice vid. can u use track motion to make the light streaks follow the ipod? cause i think its much easier than keyframing one frame at a time.

wow super tip. thanks for the good idea, that was just what i was looking for, thx man

what you could do is keyframe the particles/second over time...say if u wrote ur first letter, then keyframe a particle/second from 100 to 0 within the time period of one frame. this would make the partile generation stop. then, keyfram the particles/second from 0 to 100 on ur second letter. u can always offset the layers to get the perfect timing u want.

Thanks for the info i tried that and it works well with keyframing. There is another question though i'd like to ask you about. i would like to write words with the swirlies. so i'd like to write an a, then stop, then start ab and so on. my problem is, that every swirlie i make starts glowing in the first frame. but i'd like that the first one starts after 2 seconds, the second one after 4 seconds and so on. do you have a soulution to this. thanks

watch his other tutorial "light streaks 2", it shows how to do this. |
